Color Matching

Accurate digital files are essential for color fidelity in printed work. For optimal results, we recommend ordering a proof on your chosen paper to evaluate both color and resolution before final approval.

Importance of Accurate Digital Files

Preparing Your Digital File

For color to be correct, it’s essential that your digital file or scan accurately represents your work. Best results come from properly prepared files. While there’s a wealth of information available online regarding color calibration and ICC profile settings for those interested, we aim to keep the process straightforward.

Recommended Proofing Options

When Color is Critical

When color accuracy is crucial, we recommend ordering a proof on the paper or canvas of your choice. Different papers absorb ink and reflect light differently, affecting how the final color is perceived.

Proof Set

To evaluate both color and resolution, consider ordering a Proof Set, which includes two sample prints:

  • Color Proof
    • We will print an 8” x 10” full image color sample on your chosen paper.
    • Upon receiving your proof, simply contact us with your approval, and we will proceed with your order.
    • If you wish to make changes, you can adjust your image using your editing software and resubmit it for printing.
  • Resolution Proof
    • If you want to verify the resolution, we will print a selected portion of your image at 100% on an 8” x 10” sheet for your evaluation.

We will hold your order until we receive your approval for these proofs.

Optional Service

Proof sets are optional and are typically recommended for discerning artists and photographers who want to ensure their work meets a specific vision. Most customers, however, find that they are satisfied with the results without a proof.

If you would like to order a proof, simply select the option while customizing your frame package.
