# What if I want a float frame but not the 1/4" gap?
## Our website defaults to a 1/4" relief for canvas float frames, which you can adjust by modifying the Art Size. Simply multiply your desired relief by 2 and adjust your Art Size accordingly.
When ordering a canvas float frame from our website, we automatically apply a standard 1/4" relief to your artwork. This relief allows the canvas to sit properly within the frame, ensuring a clean and secure display.
If you wish to modify the relief amount—either increasing or decreasing it—this can easily be done by adjusting the *Art Size* of your artwork.
If you prefer a different relief size (e.g., 1/8" instead of 1/4"), follow these steps:
- Determine the amount of relief you want on each side (e.g., 1/8" on each side).
- Multiply the desired relief by 2 (since the relief affects both sides of the artwork).
- Example:
- **Original Relief**: 1/4" (default setting)
- **Desired Relief**: 1/8" (on each side)
- **Calculation**: 1/8" × 2 = 1/4"
- **Adjust Art Size**: Decrease your *Art Size* by 1/4" to achieve the 1/8" relief.
